Nicknames

Page history last edited by Sean Dobbs 15 years, 1 month ago

Starting with show #32, the OG Crew has offered to give nicknames to any of their fans who request one. To request a nickname, send them an email at otaku.generation@gmail.com with "NICKNAME ME" in the subject line, but be sure to information about yourself that they can decide on a nickname. Please note that once they've given you a nickname, the nickname cannot be changed, unless you plead a lot, and they mean a lot!

Here is a mostly complete list of the nicknames currently given, along with a short blurb about the person and how they got their nickname, if possible. If your nickname is not on the list, or you've been given a nickname but would like to change your blurb, please email the Wiki Master at og.wikimaster@gmail.com.

  • Johnny Two-Times: A Korean guy from the Midwest, so named for his habit of sending in two feedbacks at once.
  • Kitty: A girl loved by most of the OG crew, especially Kyle. Often referred to as 'jailbait' for her current status as a minor.
  • The Fumbler: The guy who inspired the nickname segment when he asked the OG Crew to give him a nickname, since he couldn't make one himself.
  • Stumpy/Wibble: A 14-year-old guy named Tom who is called either Stumpy or The Wibble. In his email he stated that he was picked on by all his classmates about liking anime, and after listening to the OG podcast, has since told his class to "go set fire to their duckholes!" A vocal fan, in show #40, Apocalypse Dowell said, "When someone sends me 5 emails in 10 minutes, I know they're from Otaku Generation," and Aaron replied, "Ok, Stumpy, please stop emailing Dowell!" On Episode #108, after leaving a long voice mail in which he mentioned going to see the new Transformers many times, Paul decreed that he could carry the additional name of Stumpimus Prime. He's never going to be able to get away from his nickname at this rate.
  • Iron Dragon: This nickname was given to a listener named Erin, of ninjaconsultant.com, in earlier episodes. She then gave cast member Aaron the nickname "Scary Aaron". It was then revealed that "Scary Aaron" is also known by some as "Creepy Aaron".
  • Piv: The cast encountered a fan named Paul V during Ohayocon. Because of Paul's last name being hard to pronounce, Alan shortened his name to this nickname.
  • Lady Syphilus: A British listener named Sophia. Kyle read her email with a striking accent.
  • Guano Bob: A guy named Chris who made the mistake of mistyping "do do" in his nickname request.
  • Stokes: A frequent emailer, also known as "Stokes Mon" and "The Cheese Pirate", after asking for another nickname once this segment started.
  • Chops: A listener named James, who asked if the cast had read a manga called "Lament of the Lamb", which no one had.
  • Dan Junior: Named Alexander, almost nicknamed Alexander the Grape, but got this nickname due to his anime preferences, which were very similar to Dan the Fan. In Show #88, he got the additional nickname Swashbuckler-tard.
  • Victro: A Brazilian listener named Victor, whose love of the show was seemed insufficiantly enthusiastic.
  • Timmer: The girlfriend of Johnny Two-Times, named Rachel, for her email that contained Too Much Information on the physical nature of their relationship.
  • Sergeant Um: A listener named Joe who likes the unsophisticated humor of the show.
  • D.H. Craven: The guy who started the duckhole joke.
  • Static: A listener named Tim who prefers dubbed anime to subtitled shows. He is also a nice guy, and his high school experience sounded very much like Paul's.
  • Mega: A frequent commenter known as MegaDaffy, due to his email. He and Kyle have some sort of mysterious relationship.

  • Cookie-twan: A listener named Anton who said that "on a scale from one to cookie, you guys are cookie".

  • Samual J. Snakes: A listener who is a ferverent user of 4chan and sent in yuri with his letter so that Dan the Fan would read his email on the air.
